Personal statement

I am an extremely loyal, competitive, highly focused individual with over 25 year’s insurance experience. I have a deeply analytical thought process and excel in identifying areas of improvements and problem solving, allowing me to ensure that historybusinesses are continuously driven forwards. I am used to handling multiple projects whilst still ensuring deadlines are met in today’s demanding environments. I enjoy getting to grips with new technologies and platforms and am able to have a fundamental understanding of software platforms workflow extremely quickly.

I was responsible for the overall support and development of our core OpenGI software platform. The platform has been tweaked and configured over the last 7 years to support 400+ users, handle multiple brands, remote office locations and 50+ different policy types. My role is extremely diverse and may see me making recommendations to the senior management team over system improvements or upgrades, dealing with aggregator and software house relationships, implementing regulatory changes or identifying key areas where process automation or changes will have the greatest impact. I have been pivotal in successfully integrating 4 acquisitions into our platform allowing each business to reduce staff costs whilst also providing a better service to the end consumers. These acquisitions and changes have seen the business grow 10 fold in the last 7 years. I currently manage a team of 4 staff whom I monitor and coach to help improve knowledge and experience. This gives them the skills and tools they need to identify and fix issues quickly to help prevent any loss of productivity.

I was originally employed by Insurance Factory as Internet Manager with the responsibility of developing a viable internet presence in the aggregator space. I added the role of Real Time Pricing developer in 2009 to help build up our volumes and profitability. During this time it became clear that we needed better customer handling and experience, so I implemented changes to the customer journey and back office processes that reduced customer enquiries and increased sales. This analytical approach to details lead to me taking ownership of platform development and the move of software providers from CDL to OpenGI.

I helped administer and sell policies to clients and cross sell additional products to ensure we maximised income. I quickly progressed and became a sales consultant, helping both sell and administer insurance policies and add-ons.

Interests

I love spending time with my family or socialising with friends. I enjoy cycling, walking and generally being outdoors. I consider myself a bit of a technology geek, I like trying out new gadgets and technologies or spending time building and maintaining my websites.
